Orks are pretty good, especially at lower point values. I think elro is looking for a 1500 pt game tomorrow.

Just take as many Shoota boys as you can afford and walk into his face guns a'blazin. Kill his troops, ignore everything else and dare him to stop you from taking objectives. He might be able to, but then that's the rub.

For 1465 you can get something as laughably unstoppable as:

85 Big Mek, Kustom Force Field
75 (5) Lootas
75 (5) Lootas
75 (5) Lootas
195 (30) Ork Shootas, 3 Heavy Shootas
195 (30) Ork Shootas, 3 Heavy Shootas
195 (30) Ork Shootas, 3 Heavy Shootas
195 (30) Ork Shootas, 3 Heavy Shootas
195 (30) Ork Shootas, 3 Heavy Shootas
60 (3) Kannons
60 (3) Kannons
60 (3) Kannons
Total: 1465

Spend the extra points and things you don't own on a 6th shoota squad or dakkajet(s) if you happen to own em. Totally unstoppable wave of ork lead at 1500pts. (If you don't own extras of the above, just take whatever you can. Most of the rest of the Ork codex is fairly internally balanced...these things are best, but of the rest there aren't many traps except loading up on wargear - don't do that.)

Leisurely walk(/run if not in shoota range) towards whatever objectives there might be and always shoot his Troops. Try and keep one ork per squad within 6" of the KFF Big Mek for the force field boon. Big long radiating lines are good. You want to be shooting, but hey if they assault you so be it, yer Orks ~ and if they're weak within 6ish" hey assault them, yer Orks! Deploy the Lootas and Kannons in cover and Go To Ground instantly if anyone bothers shooting at you. Those units are all irrelevant anyway since they're not scoring, and Orks hitting after going to ground on a 6+ is hardly that much different from their normal 5+ to hit. Bodies, bodies, bodies. Play for the objectives. Out-Survive em, Smother em, Rawr. The Ork Way.

One of the problems is that i have not bought a unit since 3rd ed and in 3rd i played more of a fast attack army, i have tons of bws, buggies, and trucks i think i have like 6 bws and a very good amount of kans . i need to restock on new stuff like lootas and kannons. i have to load my carry case up and see what i can fit. thanks for a great list.

Well if you have 9 Kans just do the same thing but with the 9 kans screening the army. (Always with one member within 6" of the KFFl) It used to be a better strat, but it's still a viable option for a pick up game.

The three BW approach is still possible, if you own something really killy inside, but it wouldn't be my choice at 1500.

Sure, 3 BW w/ 3 mega nobs in each, backed up by big units of orks can work just fine. I played that at the last game of Battle for Salvation and sweated every turn while he was completely at ease.

People are perfectly happy with stand in units/proxies, so long as it's clear what is what. If you mean "all these orks w/ pistol and hand weapon are shootas", then yeah whatever. They're orks.

No one will even blink if you just say "all these orks are shootahs".

We are a tournament based organization, it will be expected your models are "right" if you travel to an event with us, but for normal club play we totally understand.
