Am I the only one not interested in the new Apocalypse?

I don't see why we can't continue using the old rules & formations.

Well, yer the first one to mention it, so I think that makes you the most interested!

We only play Apoc once or twice a year at most, so pretty sure I won't be paying $75 for the book regardless.

well... the current apocaplypse rules don't even work with the game.... So yeah, I'm excited for it.

BTW - the new models are amazing!

What annoys me though is that they didn't put new rules out for a lot of the different minis.

until someone opens up their basement for a long game, I can't imagine we're ever going to try out the apoc rules.

CS is a great place to play, when you can. But, even if we got a bunch of guys to take off early from work on thursday, or we all got there at noon on saturday.. we wouldn't have enough time to deploy and play more than a turn or two.

cest la vie. I always found apoc games annoying.

We've successfully played a few 20k-ish on Saturdays over the years, it's just about keeping a strict time limit on certain phases and pushing people to keep it going.

If you let your teammates roll your dice for certain assaults or shooting phases it certainly speeds things up. Invariably one player ends up needing to be in multiple places at once, so minimizing the down time waiting for players speeds things up.

Pete, with the wonkiness of the strategic assets, we've always been better off not using them & sticking to no force org, fight over 6 objectives & have fun. No reason we can't keep doing that. :)

And yes, we've done a great job with sticking to A) make a list before you get to the club, & B) 10 mins per phase. I've been a little loose with the 10 mins if there's been a phase that went pretty quick. So 30 mins max per player turn, help out fellow team mates with dice rolls if need be, & it's been great.

Maybe we should have a go at it soon? We could either play for free or everybody throw in $5-$10, then dice off like we did last time to randomize store credit for 2 people.

The next 3 Sat's are bad for me: 1 party & being in Portugal. So let's shoot for an Aug date?

Yeah summer tends to kill weekend gaming.

That said, we definitely need one copy of apocalypse for titans and such. And formations are often brought as well.

And didn't we get upto a 40k game once? I kinda remember is saying 40k of 40k!

I don't know what your last statement means, but I'm down for using the remaining club funds to buy a club copy of Apoc. Is that cool with everyone?
