40k FAQS Updated!

Postby Ancow » Mon Aug 14, 2006 8:49 pm

uk.games-workshop.com/news/errata/3/

FAQs for the 4th edition codices updated (Marines, Templars, Tyranids, Tau), with some very controversial rulings. Tyranids got screwed a litttle bit more.

But the fact that the FAQs were actually updated means I should probably wait for the moon to turn blood red and the seas to boil over shortly.

Yep.. nids took a hit, as did Tau.

Pathfinders not being able to scout with their MANDATORY transport. :(

They also failed to say what happens when a drop pod lands on a friendly unit. :

Two year wait and this is the best they could do?

Beyond half assed.

Marines took a small hit too, as they're speeders can't deepstrike and shoot anymore.

Of course deep striking raiders aren't affected, so enjoy DE players (if there are any of you left).

I can't read the FAQs because some assclown blocked the GW site at work, actually. I'll get to read them in about 10 hours or so. Don't spoil the endings for me.

...King Kong dies...

END SPOILERS

Seriously, all I want to know is what GW's rationale was for making Synapse critters immune to insta-kill only from weapons exactly double their Toughness. Was the original purpose of the change not to make Tyranid Warriors more viable? Or do they assume that everyone prefers missile launchers over lascannons?

Ed - I couldn't agree more.

Though I really don't mind the nid warriors being instakilled by lascannons. That's fine with me.

I couldn't care much either way - I just want to hear their explanation for why they did it this way.

I can't believe how much flak I took from Vin for that. Get with the culture, Poli! :b

To be fair -- well, they don't need defending -- it's good that they cleared up the immobilized drop pod points value thing. I know lots of people who still don't believe me about that.
