I think hobo big bosses should be 2 for 1 in hero slots.

OR

I think they should be able to take a chariot as a mount.

Otherwise, you'll rarely see any.

They should also have the option of taking a spear for 4 pts. Was that an omission or purposeful lack of option?

Magic item allotment should also be 35pts. The Hogoblin big boss with the black gem is too classic to get rid of.

Certainly bump up the magic item points. Maybe if he joins Hobgoblins they lose animosity?

I like the option to make a complete hobgoblin army with these options - although you should probably give the Hobgoblin Hordes special rule to the Big Boss as well.

Additionally, I would restrict the banners available to a Hobgoblin Horde to the Standard of Slavery, and the Banner of Obedience. The easiest way to do that would be to designate all the other banners "Chaos Dwarf or Bull Centaur Only".

I think I'm on board with everyone else that you won't see a lot of Hobgoblins showing up.
What if you gave them something really useful...
Hobgoblin bosses let units within 6" re-roll animosity checks.
Hobgoblin lords let units within 12" re-roll animosity checks.

I'm a long time Orc and Goblin player, and I know that animosity is the single biggest factor in keeping an army from competing for upper level of play. Over the course of a tournament, you're going to have animosity hose you pretty bad at least once.

A hobgoblin army needs some magic resistance. I'd like to see the big bosses be 2 for 1 pick in hero choices and add something like a stackable "thief stone" that gives MR(1) at 15 points each. Would like to see the Chief be able to take this as well.
