I am not at all liking the earthshaker. It either needs a point reduction or the ability needs to tuned. It won't slow enough units down to make it worth taking over the far superior hellcannon.

My suggestion is that any unit under the hole (and only the hole) can not move at all (including flyers), and increase the cost to 150 points. Then it becomes a viable option.

I like it as, it does get alittle pricey. Maybe do like old HC did with a 5" template that halves moves. Or drop it to 100 points.

This is THE biggest gaff in the entire book. What was so awful about the original ES that you had to make it total balls now? It doesn't even stop flyer now, and barely shuts down any movement to justify taking it as is. The old one wasn't that bad if you only took 1 in the army, and if guys take 2, that's what COMP is for. Up the pts. of the old one if you have to, don't swap it out for this sad look-alike.

I looked at this writing my list up this evening and said no way. The Death Rocket, which isn't exactly amazing, is much better than this, costs fewer points, and is only a special choice. If you want to avoid the 2D6 range, it needs to be a 5" template for the points.

Earthshaker is a joke. You get vanilla stone thrower for 110 ponts. And where is it's cannon misfire chart? Where is it's 2D6" slowdown (slowdown working on hit unit only is negligible)? And why it (ie. the slowdown) doesn't affect flyers (those are daemon shell shots - they should affect everything!)? I think Earthshaker should cost 50-60 points and be Special for what it is doing a the moment. Oh, and the name 'Earthshaker' is now confusing. :orcsslobber:

Remember, the death rocket is tons more accurate because it only scatters in one direction.

Didn't work amazingly for me, then again I was fighting regular Dwarves. It's not that good against T4. Not that hard to use, though, the scatter like a cannon is a godsend.

For perspective, most stone throwers are 70-80 points.
I think half move for 30-40 points is just a little steep.
Maybe a little more expensive and more effective.

What about more accurate? Re-roll the artillery die, with something really horrific if you get a 2nd misfire?
