The "Will you play 8th edition at the Big Show?" Thread!

So I'm going to the Big Show GT and I'm hoping to play all 5 of my games using the 8th edition rules set. I'm betting (and hoping) that I'm not alone here.

Please post here if you are going to the Big Show GT and are willing to play 8th edition rules in all your games. If you don't want to play 8th edition or are not going to the Big Show please do not post. Thanks.

So who can I count on to play 8th edition with me at the Big Show?

Whiney 7th edition players need not apply....

So, in order to do this, our lists have to be both 7th and 8th legal and submitted to the bossman before the rules for 8th comes out?

Is that accurate?

No the lists have to be 7th legal. The deadline for list submission is July 1, so 8th will not be out yet. So us 8th-editioners out there will have to use our superior generalship skills to adapt our 7the edition lists and models, simply using them under 8th edition. Which, btw, is really interesting in its own right.

So you'll be playing 8th without the (rumored) percentage changes?

Kevin is correct. As far as the tournament is concerned, you need to submit a 7th edition legal list. That's the list you'll use. If you and your opponent feel like using 8th edition rules, go right ahead. Your lists will be the SAME 7th edition legal lists. So if you're upset that your opponent's list is 75% special, I suggest you go with 7th. :P

Of course, if you also play CLOSED lists, then you're REALLY asking for trouble. ;)

I will play you in 8th edition Kevin! But I'm playing open lists.

Andy, well, it depends as things get closer how I'm going to build my list. I don't want to build my list based on rumours. Most of my armies I build fall into the percentages anyway. I normally take between 20-30% characters, 50%+ core, etc. I'm not worrried about that stuff.

Sounds like the worst possible solution.

Open lists are boring. I like playing math and probability.
