The NJ SOBs Foodmachine - December 4th, Somerville, NJ

Postby siridar » Tue Nov 16, 2010 9:46 am

The New Jersey Somerville Ogrun Bokurs (NJ SOBs) cordially invite you to our premier Foodmachine event in the world.

What: 50 point SR2010 format with the Foodmachine cheats
When: Saturday, December 4th, 2010 (10 AM registration; 11 AM start)
Where: The Only Game in Town (Somerville, NJ)
Contact: http://www.togit.com 908-725-7077
Cost: 10 cans to enter; purchase 1 cheat per can or per $0.40 donation
TO: Michael Stubbs

If you can't come to play in the tournament, please still consider donating some cans or cash to help our cause. All cash donated will be used to buy cans of food at wholesale prices from our supermaket partner.

Format:
1. Bring two lists of 50 points each.
2. SR2010 scenarios with Foodmachine cheats.
3. Accelerated Time Limits (shorter overall game time).
4. Finals Table variant (the final round of the tournament will have a championship table to determine 1st and 2nd place and a secondary table which determines 3rd and 4th place).

A raffle and bakesale will also be taking place at the same time. All money raised from these will be used to purchase more canned food donations. Raffle prizes will consist of a variety of games and gaming accessories from our sponsors.

Prizes:
- The top 3 players will win tournament coins.
- Bring your Battle Journals to receive Steamroller stamps.
- This tournament will also earn points towards our "Biggest SOB" Annual Championship.

Painting Contest:
- Players may enter models they painted within the last 6 months, using the honor system. Once a model is entered in a competition, it can't be entered in one again. The model can be part of a unit. The whole unit isn't entered, just one model, however that entry will exclude any other models from the unit being entered in subsequent competitions.
- Two contests are run simultaneously with entries classified according to their model type (see below). Each person can only enter 1 model into the contest (not 1 model in each category).
- Category 1 entries are: large and medium based warjacks/warbeasts, cavalry models, and warcasters/warlocks.
- Category 2 entries are everything else.
- The tournament players will vote on all the entries submitted in each category for 1st through 3rd place. Once the painting entries are all ranked, we will use a non-variable scoring system to award points towards our "Biggest SOB" Annual Championship.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you bring an orange painted model to the competion to help support Project: Orange Crush, you will be awarded an extra 5 bonus Biggest SOB points.

Sidebar:
Absolutely NO proxying (unless your case has been pleaded before the Empress and she deems it worthy). Conversions will be accepted on a model by model basis following Privateer Press' published conversion guide. All models must be assembled completely (i.e. no Warjacks/Warbeasts missing arms, wings, models falling off base, etc). Only Privateer Press models allowed (IK models are acceptable within reason). Painting not required, but highly encouraged.

For anyone who wants to go to this event, but is reconsidering due to transportation issues, I'm sure someone can find a way to get you there. It's a short drive from Brooklyn, and there are trains stop relatively nearby as well.

This event is for a great cause, and is especially needed around the holidays.

I can escort somebody by train to there as I will be going from Jersey City to Newark and then by train to Somerville. Also, it might be possible to arrange rides as some people drive from Brooklyn occasionally. This is a fun tournament and I actually started playing WM/H with that a year ago. Great fun and not too cutthroat.

No one made it out there. I wasn't feeling good that morning, and couldn't make it out there.

They had 21 players though. Quite a turnout.
