My newest VC army - OOP 80s (pic heavy)

Postby Larro » Sun Jan 16, 2011 11:27 pm

I unveiled this at Border Raids, but there were only a few Warmongers there, and fewer at Conflict this weekend, so here are the pics (and yes, they're the same as on TWF). Enjoy, and comments welcome:

My army on display board:

A bunch of pics of my Ghouls, run in 2x 30+ to start the game:

And a closeup of a few of my unit fillers, including a very old tree from McDeath!

My Grave Guard unit, made from Warhammer Quest Tomb Guard and the Liche King on Throne in the center as a unit filler:

OOP Skeletons, utilized as a Bunker and obviously, an extra Fortitude point:

Wraiths!

My Vharg, using one of GW's best models, with a head-swap:

And Nosferatu, the Vampire Lord!

Not shown are 3 additional Wraiths along with plenty of extra Ghouls and Skeletons, and 30 Zombies.

33 out of 40, losing 4 out of 5 possible points for conversions, and 3 points somewhere for freehand or something.

Heavy-Metal wight-king BSB cracks me up. He should be on the cover of a Slayer album.
Jaghatai, on the Pale Rider event: I hop on this board to post a simple NEWCC question, end up looking at some interacial lesbian action and watch a religious meltdown. You guys know how to party!

The colors got washed out by the flash a bit. These look very sweet in person.

Great looking army Larry. Love the unit fillers and board too.

Larry, I've never seen anyone do better Vampire faces- they look just amazing, espcially your Mannfred (not shown here?). The old ghouls are cool as hell, I can't believe GW discontinues such awesome models...

I still think you should be using the throned Liche Lord as somekind of character though!
Common Goblins iz da best!!

These look very cool , great work here all around .I am not a fan of oop armies but I can see why some people are .

And I think this should have scored higher , gathering old models should give points in the conversion area or something .
Would you rather pew pew pew pew or chic chic BLAM !!! chic chic BLAM !!!!

Blast from the past, but thanks for the kind words nonetheless!

The problem with the Liche Lord is that he's on a 40mm base to be a unit filler, and he's too big to be on a 20mm given the huge throne and all. It'd be confusing and people would say I'm being gamey or some BS if I just said he counts as 3 other models, because it gets confusing for attacks and attack allocation, etc.
