Eldar Shuricat

Postby Guy In Suit » Tue May 28, 2013 1:25 pm

Can someone loan me a shuricat from the Dire Avengers sprue? I want to mock up a test model and see if I like it before ordering 60 or so. The splinter rifles are looking a little too spiky for the wood-elves carrying them.

But... dark eldar... don't get shuriken catapults? :)

If you take a whole bunch of wood elves and give them shurikens everyone is going to think they're Eldar Exodites.

Well, it's your army. But I'd caution you - the gun is by far considered the most (possibly only) important element of wysiwyg. This wouldn't be any different than giving guardsmen bolters and playing them as lasguns.

Again, it's totally your army - but if you ever want to play it at outside events you really should reconsider.

I've decided to arm them with bows. I will paint the tips green for WYSIWYG poison attacks!

No to catapults if you aren't doing exodites. What gun folks are armed with is all the wysiwg that matters for 40k.

If you want cats fine. But play your list as eldar but as exodites. Run your dryads as wraithguard. Big trees are your wraithlords. Really big trees are your wraithknights. Dun.
Fast, like kittens with jetpacks.

I was going to convert the guns by smoothing them with a Dremel and lengthening them with brass rod. They are all gonna look like hooded and cloaked snipers. Whether I start with a Eldar or Dark Eldar gun - the end result would look the same - it would just take more work to file down the DE guns as they have more corners. The fact that this is even a thing is a huge turn-off to what is a very huge modelling project.

I saw a DE army win awards at Nova that was made entirely of Skaven. I just don't understand - it seems like a huge contradiction.

If you're making a brand new gun from scratch parts no one's going to care.

If you're sticking shurikens on dark eldar someone will definitely care and get uppity.
