Hey, I looked through your gallery and I have to say ... that is the best use of the new GW giant I've ever seen ! Simply awesome !

Thanks - I'm currently repainting that model and it's for sale, if you or anyone else is interested. I got it pre-release from GW for a contest, but wound up being away on vacation when it occurred. I was told upon my return that I would have won the substantial prize if I had been there. :x

Alright, here's the Apocalypse Tyranid units!

Genestealer Cult leader, plays as an Inquisitor:

Posing with a Hellhound flying a (magnetized) Cult banner. Tank is soon to be repainted to match my Catachan - I got it as a prize and didn't have any IG at the time, so it had magnets installed and spends most of its time with Orky bitz covering it and serving as burna wagon.

Image

Genestealer combat servitor, plays in the Cult leader's retinue. Mostly made for fun from bitz. May be neatened up a bit soon to serve as a Servitor in my IG army.

Converted Trygon:

Counts-as Basilisk with heavy flamer (the ability to spit gouts of acid):

And that's about it for the Tyranids besides some terrain pieces I'm still working on. Next post will be Eldar (there's less of them, so it should be done in two posts or so).

I should be bringing in my Catachan on Thursday, so figured I'd share some pictures. The army is still very in progress and by Thursday I should have a good bit more done. I'm rushing through at this moment to get the army playable but I plan on going back and neatening up the sloppy parts, weathering the vehicles, etc.

Tonight I'll finish the Rough Riders and Leman Russ, then post those up.

Those dark camo skinned guys look awesome... not sure that plasma pistol in the other pic is old school enough... is that circa 1987? :D

Couldn't say for sure, I wasn't born at that point. :D

Here's some more pictures of progress. Almost all the models still need neatening up, better skin blending, armor chips, forgotten highlights, etc. I'm just trying to get as much to a basic level as possible so the army will look alright on the table.

Leman Russ:

Metal weapon loaders converted to various normal troops:

And a... Sentinel?

This army is making rapid progress. It'll be in the store on Thursday and should have a bit more done by then. Some very generous Warmonger board members are contributing to it and I look forward to sharing what I do with their models. :)

Holy crap !

Well, one man's "look alright on the table" is another man's (woman's) "Wow ! Nice army, Leah. You've really improved !!"

Very cool shit there chicken !!! Very cool indeed.

Thanks! I've been making very good progress and I should have 1500 points of this army in the store tomorrow, about half-finished.

Some very generous Warmongers have been helping me out with this force and I thought they'd like to see how their old models are going so far. First is a Squat Enginseer, still work in progress. I might give him a bionic eye and drop the cog designs on the helmet (he now looks like midget santa in a yamaka). Also needs basing.

Image

I also got some old Ogryns, which I was told people in the shop were snickering at. Hopefully I can convert and paint them so they're up to snuff!

Image

There's a really old Rogue Trader(?) model and a Blood Bowl one in there. Some arms and heads were missing. Hopefully they'll look complete and cohesive when finished, even if that means one gets to be a bionic lifter-worker. They need more bits and greenstuff, but you get the idea.

Hope you like!

No sunglasses head! For shame!

Haha... I originally intended to keep it, but finally decided it would look too out of place on a model that was already receiving a lot of conversion. Don't worry, the head is still in the bitz bag. :D

Still not sure about the cog design, but I think the Squat looks alright for now and I'm going to leave him alone until everything is done and I go back to make everything really pretty.

Image

And the Ogryns. Took FOREVER (even though I did break them up with some 18-Termagant batch painting). No camo pants and some other missing details but I really can't work on them any longer. I can't do the same thing for more than two days and I started them yesterday, so into the temporary 'finished' pile they go.

Image

Hope you like. At this point every model in the 1500pt army has at least some paint, even if it's just the basecoat and drybrushing on the base. Thanks to James (slann) for a great game last Thursday - I don't have the money to travel downtown and play every week (round train fare + gaming fee + food/beer money adds up to a lot more than I spend on the average day) but hopefully I'll be able to return at least once more before I head away to the woods August 9th to resume my job as a wilderness school instructor.

A few more models. I'm hoping to come in for a game and to give away some bitz while home for winter break.
