Got the Plaster

Postby robk » Mon Oct 31, 2005 11:16 pm

Hey Andy & Dave,
I got the plaster last night and did one cast of my molds. The stuff is really good. I did have some very tiny air bubbles but I think thats cause I was a tool and didn't pound on the table enough or scrape soon enough.
If you'll be there this thursday I'll bring some in and show you how to do it. I'll try to split the box into a couple tupperware containers, I know Andy isn't going to need that much.
Dave I probably won't be able to bring in 1/2 the box as it weighs 25lbs and I'd rather not have to drag that across town.
Next Saturday the 12th ,Andy and I are planning on having a casting day

One trick I have found to help reduce bubbles is after you have mixed the plaster, but before you pour it, let it sit for a minute or two, and maybe tap the side of the cup. It has helped me reduce the number of bubbles I've had to deal with.

Enjoy!

I'll be away from the 10-13....

Just bring in enough for me to use for now - whatever amount you feel like carrying.

Do you have the stuff you mentioned sprinkling in the mold first?

I'm looking forward to trying stuff out.

Thanks,
Dave
