My suggestion? Do something NOT undead. Something WITH psychology! Sucka! :lol

Inks plus PVA

Brown for "straight" skeletons

Brown with a little black for "long buried" skeletons

Add some yellow for "aged" skeletons

Maybe a dash of chestnut

PVA keeps it from falling to the base

Or dip it if you don't mind shallow shading

Where can I find more information on this dipping technique?

Time Kline, the guy who painted those tomb kings, might be there Saturday. I can introduce you if you like.

Raul's got a great article on dipping on the HQ site.

I thought your point LArry was you didn't want a brown scheme. All the answers have a brown base to them.

And as far as dipping goes has anyone tried using a water base polyurathane as the dipping medium. Easier clean up, less toxic and endless tinting possibilities if the paints mix well. Just wonderin

Well except my purple/grey one which he asked for. ;)

to reiterate, I would go for a 50/50 mix of light grey and purple and highlight up to almost pure grey.

Um....

Non-brown base skeletons....

Right....

Well...

How about ebony skeletons? Black up to grey.

How about red, pink, bloody skeletons? Red up to light pink and white.

How about rainbow flower skeletons?

Seriously though. Other than the black/grey, brown, and bloody skeletons, I can't think of anything else.

You could copy the different skeleton colors from Diablo, but I always thought they were silly. Yellow skeletons? Plutonium green skeletons? They'd have to have a good reason, like particular types of magic or fungus, but you'd have to really make that explicit in the basing and painting, and how are you going to do that (other than light source painting)?

Best of luck =p

NightGoblin - You misunderstand. Im saying opposed to starting with a brown and building up, is there ANYTHING ELSE? I didn't dismiss any other method. I've seen some Grey skeletons taken up to white or white-grey at a GT and they looked neat. I was looking more for pictures if they could be obtained. Thanks though.
