Tyranid painting blog?

Postby The Gunslinger » Thu Nov 26, 2009 2:37 am

My iPhone can't focus well up close but I edited it a bit.

These are my test subjects, Bruno & Isilda. Say hi to the nice people, kids.

I'm going for a Behemoth variant scheme. I think the original scheme's red is too bright, & I don't like the blue highlights on the armor plates. Also, I added multi-blue line across the side of the head, which didn't really come out in the pic.

Looks good, Lou. What is the planned list?

I would find a way to incorporate more of that tongue green on the rest of the models - it's a striking contrast.

And don't use a cellphone for a painting blog!
Jaghatai, on the Pale Rider event: I hop on this board to post a simple NEWCC question, end up looking at some interacial lesbian action and watch a religious meltdown. You guys know how to party!

My 1850 list, without going thru all the stat upgrades...

Winged tyrant with STalons & bonesword/lash whip, warp field

2 elite dakkafexs

5 warriors with small template guns, bio-plaz, ST, WS, S, I bumps

2 broods of 8 genestealers with outflank & preferred enemy

2 broods of without # spine fist gaunts

3 zoans - 3 warp blast, 1 synapse, 2 psychic scream

2 super fexs with vencans & barbed stranglers, scyth tails, S, I, WS, BS, T, W, Sv bumps & regen.

I know I have a lot of upgrades on the superfexs, & I can squeeze another elite fex out if I drop regen & a few other stuff, but for now, that's how I want to play them. Rolling for regen is awesome. :)

I like the green too. I think I can put it on the "open skin" parts of the limbs. Maybe I can try it on the cords of the guns too.

It's a pain to use my regular camera cuz that means I got to turn on my computer & connect it. The iPhone does it all, except take good up close pics. I even downloaded a Photobucket app.

I'll do it though. :)

Considering that's the only thing you need it to do I guess it doesn't do it all, does it? Use a camera son.

I will, but I also used it to upload to Photobucket so I could embed the pic here. I know that our boards let you attach files/pics into the post, but that function doesn't work on iPhone. I think you need a C: drive to browse & attach the file, but of course there's no C: drive.

Since it's a matter of focus, I wanted to try pulling back til the focus is good, then crop around the mini. It probably won't show enough detail, so I'll probably have to use my camera.

Why can't you upload to photobucket off your hard drive? Camera -> hard drive -> photobucket -> blog. Would love to see the bugs in focus.
Fast, like kittens with jetpacks.
