GW Primer Alternative

Postby ampao » Sat Dec 05, 2009 3:46 pm

Lately, the GW Chaos Black primer isnt doing what it's supposed to do. Whenever I lay on some paint onto the model, its as if i just put water on it. No matter how thick the paint is.

So I'm wondering, anything else working out for you all?

Should I change my primer? Should I change my paints? (I use a combination of GW and Vallejo paints)

Is there an additive I should be adding?

Thanks

I just use Krylon primer. Costs ~$4 a can.

I usually go with krylon as well.

Although I bought the GW Primer with stat cash, the black one, I have not had this problem. Maybe additional shaking? sometimes I also put the can in like hot water for a while, seems to help it.

I'd try throwing the can in a microwave for a few minutes. That always does the trick for me. If it doesn't fit or you're worried, use an oven instead - more control. :orc thumb:

I have actually had problems with the Krylon Primer. I use Krylon Ultra Flat Black or white. they both go on really thin and even, if applied correctly, and they dry super fast! The primer seemed to melt my plastics
