So I recently started looking into upgrading my PC that I built a couple years ago (hey Nidal, want to help?) and I came across this thread in a forum. Thought it was pretty hilarious, maybe you will also enjoy it!

Wow! That's hilarious.

Someone is making resin casts of a processor fan - those are our skills being used for nefarious deeds!

Heh.. that's great stuff.

Jeremy, why do you want to upgrade? Do you need a faster PC for some reason? Games? High-stress apps? Operating system giving you fits? I switched my PC out to windows 7, and it's been running fantastic (and IIRC, your components are newer/faster than mine). If you need more actual juice, that's one thing. But I'm not sure you need an upgrade unless you really want to run the latest and greatest games on the planet (and even then, a video card swap and a couple of extra gigs of ram will make plenty of difference... not to mention if you want to splurge on a flash-hard-drive)

Let me know what you have now, and what your reason is for upgrading.

lol Thanks Nidal, but I was just kidding about the help! I already have it all planned out. Going to replace my graphics card with a Radeon HD 5850, get a sick aftermarket HFS, and OC my Q6600. According to those in the know that should keep me gaming for the next few years. After that I'll need to do a substantial upgrade (RAm, MOBO, CPU, the whole works!). Also going to do Windows 7 (but not until I can get the student discount). I have been reading a lot of stuff lately on many forums so I am feeling pretty good about doing all of this myself. Hopefully, I can manage the cables better than "we" did last time lol.
