And the FAQs are up

Page 102 – Ring of Hotek
Change to “Any Wizard (friend or foe) attempting to cast a
spell within 12" of the wearer must roll on the Miscast table on
any roll of a double, but will only cast a spell with irresistible
force on a roll of double 6.”

Wheeeeeeee! (ok, so no "target within 12" but still good enough for me!)

High Elf Swordmasters still ASF, and yes, re-roll to-hits. On the other hand, nothing about an elite army rule.

*facepalm*

The Steam Tank can be killed by Heroic Killing Blow. I don't even know how that's supposed to work. Also, nothing on if the War Altar can cast all levels of the Lore of Light's spells or just the base level. Oh, and no clarifications on warrior priests, so I guess they still generate dispel dice but don't add their non-existent caster levels.

Dwarf cannons still cause D3 hits (as per the engineer rules changes in the FAQ)

Exactly as I expected, just the bare minimum to tidy things up with the new rules, with a few random WTF!!!!!! changes thrown in just to make 8th ed even crazier than it was already.

It still affects "Area of effects" spells.

Incredibly dissappointing FAQs / Errattas. No updates to point costs (though few thought they would actually do that). No changes to any of the spells. No addition of signature spells to older lores, and no adding of lore attributes. No changes to alternative miscast charts. Boo.
Fast, like kittens with jetpacks.

Well the 8th book says that any spell you can default to you can have multiple times, so there's not much need for them to declare a signature spell for the old lores.

But I was hoping for some changes to everything else, aye.

These FAQS are 100% in line with the rest Wardhammer* 8th edition.

* I just coined this best ever new term for the Mat Ward-led awesomeness of 8th ed! RrRrARGH!11!!

Dosent the war alter work like a bound spell?

If so then it casts as the base level (as stated in the main book)

Yeah.. the altar lets your pick a spell from lore of light and cast it at a bound 5.. not sure where the issue is...
