Probably because the Lance rules say "rank bonus" and nothing else.

The moonstone thing is pretty funny. If you remember when the first WE FAQ came out it said you could use it in your opponents phase as well and then two days later they updated it to take this away. Guess they can't make up their minds!

I might keep the orb of thunder in my list for just that little bit longer.

Stone of Rebirth for WE also got better. One use only 2+ ward when reduced to one wound.

Q. May the ward save bestowed by the Stone of Rebirth be used more
than once? (p64)
