The 5 year old me likes most of the new dinosaurs. Sounds like they ran with Mantic's exploding dice mechanic which is a good idea to steal. The lizard king is retired for now, but I hope the army can actually fight now. Vetock wrote Skaven, Ogres and O&G, so I'm optimistic about what we wind up with.

Skaven was his first book, you should not judge him on that. O&G was great. And he only wrote the background for Ogres, Jervis did the rules for Ogres.

What do you mean by Mantic's exploding dice?

As informative as that is I think "If you roll a 6, roll again" is a better explanation overall.

Why shouldn't I judge him on Skaven just because it was his first book? It's a strong book with a lot of flavor. It's definitely OP in places, but he got the feel right. O&G book is solid all around.

Exploding dice - what Dave said. The predatory fighter rule is this exactly. I like it, as it's essentially their bite attack of old.

More rules have surfaced. The slann has seemingly been toned down but probably not as bad as the internetz are raging about.

Surprisingly the most interesting rule I am seeing concerns swarms. They moved to special, but apparently any friendly unit that is in a combat along with a swarm also gets poisoned attacks.

Jarrett, you're right, the background and flavor of the book is great. But when I think of the book I think of the 20-page errata! Vetock has improved tremendously with his rule writing...

I bought the book today, looks like a fun and cool list, certainly as powerful as ever, I'd say!
