Haha... gimpy, but seems accurate to me.

What's the general rule on crew and LOS? Is it LOS from crew to shoot a warmachine? If so, if you hide the crew behind with no room, can the machine "see" and fire? It can't fire once the crew are dead, correct? I'd call your ass on that shit! ;)

I'm pretty sure the rules show the hellcannon and crew lined up all side by side when engaged.

If you set up that way, you're inviting every bit of shooting and magic from your opponent to target the hellcannon, or the crew if they can target directly. 3 dead dwarfs later and it's eating two of your infantry units.

And I think Nidal's right: if the crew can't see, it can't shoot

Sight from machine on war machines. It is a large target as well.

Page 85 "Normally, the controlling player must be able to draw LOS to the target from the machine itself."

Thats an easy half victory points if you ask me. If it rampages your lines some much better. Andy set his up away from his battle line. I would set it up behind terrain. Just not trees if your playing me. Then again if you want people to engage your slow infantry setting it up near them helps the cause but carries a certain risk. Such is the way of it when dealing with hellspawned demons.:evil

As far as half points goes; I am sure Andy said it and he seems to know his rules. If you hit with it the risk is worth it.

Oh yeah a beastherd was near bye.

Well I stand corrected then.

I'm figuring something along the lines of a beast herd nearby for protection. If the thing does end up rampaging, they're fast, cheap and maneuverable enough to lead it where I want it to go

I know a guy who keeps 10 marauders near it so he can wheel them to direct it into the enemy or allow it to get an overrun into them. :hat
