Yes Ed, I am really claiming that one word can have different meanings depending on how they were intended when written and in context. English is marvelous like that

Well, this is one more of those things that I'd ask about as we play, as opposed to basing a strategy decision on an assumption about the rules. There are no real definitive answers here and you're bound to see people playing differently. When you see you opponent lining up his slayers in a 20 wide line, just ask "hey, how do you play ongoing combats with long lines of troops like that? This is how we play it where I'm from, and here's why." Then make your strategy decisions based on the outcome of the discussion

I really do find it sad that GW couldn't think hard enough to address this issue. It isn't just slayers, it could be any unit in a row since they put the insane courage in.
