Greetings! Take a look and let me know what you think. It's designed to fight dwarfs so magic in the list is nil.

General
heavy armor, shield, lance, barded horse

Paymaster
heavy armor, enchanted shield, lance, barded horse

Captain
heavy armor, shield, lance, barded horse
*rides w/Rhinox

Captain
heavy armor, shield, lance, pegasus

4 x 5 Heavy Cavalry
std, barding

5 Voland's Venators
full command

3 x 5 Light Cavalry
spear

4 x 3 Nilla Ogres
Great Weapon

3 Rhinox Cavalry
ironfist, heavy armor

This comes to 2092, which leaves me with 408pts to spend and I am somewhat at a loss on what to spend them on. maybe some xbows? I was thinking of adding a couple of infantry blocks in there to hit as a third wave but I think pikes would just bounce off the dwarf ranked infantry.

Suggestions? Maybe drop a couple of ogre units for some Marauders w/ GW?

Pikes can grind pretty well with regular dwarf infantry. (Make sure they have heavy armor.) They eat great weapon dwarfs. On the other hand dwarf elite like ironbreakers will jack them up. They won't outright beat the dwarfs, but they'll give you a solid set of ranks and outnumbering when you flank charge with some ogres.

Silly to build a list against a single player. Make an all comers list and test your skill in any situation.

It's hard for me to gauge this list because I hate everything about it. Ogres and opponent's-permission White Dwarf Rhinox riders, Special characters, no infantry, and it's "tooled" against a specific opponent. Yuck

I agree with Jarrett 100%. I think it's the wrong way to build a list.

My pool of local players is very small...me and my opponent. He plays Dwarfs and it's his only army so my tactical scenarios are extremely limited. He plays gun line Dwarfs. In the past my balanced list gets shot off of the board by turn 4. Not much fun. Add in his runes and anti-magic and the deck is clearly stacked against me from the start.

I have since dropped one unit of ogres and added a block of marauders and some duellists to screen them. I will probably add a pike block to add a little staying power to the line.
