Jumping in last minute?

Postby Lanceocletian » Thu Jul 01, 2010 5:28 pm

Hey Guys,

I am going to try to make the tournament (about 60% percent sure I could do it) and I apologize for being rather silent on the boards. I just got back from the UK for dissertation research and I am planning to fly out to NYC tomorrow for a month (the GF still resides in Manhattan).

I think the things that I am trying to verify are (1) tournament space (still seems like plenty of space from discussion) (2) lists are 2,999 with special characters and dogs of war allowed using Nidal's unique rule (3) possibility of catching a ride from Manhattan and splitting gas/hotel costs (4) 7th edition unless both players agree to eigth edition rules. I guess I'll probably need a response semi soon since I'll need to pack an army tonight-

On other random news- In theory I should finally be finished next year and will probably move back to NYC.

Best Regards,

Lance

Hiya,
1) lots of space, we rented out a large, unused store at the mall where my store is at and have outfitted it as a gaming bunker.
2) yes, 2999, need to approve special characters, and if two people want the same one, you bid.
3) Can't help you there, but you can get to my house by train and I'll give you a ride for the last 3 miles.)
4) yep, 7th, unless both people know enough 8th and want to play that version.

You can email me at Mikenjudyc@aol.com, and phone me at 610 892 3889, let it ring. Big empty house, cleaning up before the wife comes home from vacation.

Hey Lance -

I'm not going to be in the City, since I'm driving out from Brooklyn (I'm working that Friday), but I can get you from a train in Brooklyn (I'm right near the B/Q lines) and would gladly give you a ride. Let me know.

Hey Mike and Larry,

Thanks- I appreciate it. Larry, I'm sure I could meet you in Brooklyn.

Now, I have two hours to decide which army to bring...Are there any armies missing from the round-up or too many of another type? My initial thought was Wood Elves as a farewell to the 7th edition skirmishing horde. But I could bring Empire or Bretonnia as an option.

Best Regards,

Lance

Hey Guys,

Some bad news- I am now doubting I can make the tournament. My grandmother passed away unexpectedly last night from heart attack and I'll be flying home to Texas to help with arrangements. Since my mother is not in the best of health, it may take some time before I can make it back.

Would the council and Mike prefer if I submit a list and check, then inform the group if I must officially withdraw or should I wait till about I'm about a week away from the event to provide an update?

Best Regards,

Lance

Hey Lance

Sorry about your grandmother. I'd just submit the list to Clark or Nidal, everyone will understand if it turns out that you can't make it. Hopefully everything works out for you and your family.

Lance, sorry to hear about your grandmother. Just send me the army list in case you end up making the tourney. It's no hassle for us to score.
Jaghatai, on the Pale Rider event: I hop on this board to post a simple NEWCC question, end up looking at some interacial lesbian action and watch a religious meltdown. You guys know how to party!

Hey Guys,

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it- Hopefully, I can attend a tournament within the next year to catch up with everyone.
