Newcc

Postby Mayorofgametown » Mon Aug 02, 2010 4:38 pm

OK guys here is the preliminary info on the NEWCC this year

Newcc

Oct. 16 and 17th 2010

Both systems will be played

Clubs can send one team for each system

40k will determine who will hold the Newcc next year.

There will be prizes for both 40k and fantasy

Point levels still to be determined ( we are leaning towards 1500 40k and 2750 fantasy)

And it will be held in our battle bunker in the Granite Run Mall

Any questions please email me at

Thanks

How many players per team? 4?

My main concern from the above is it might be hard to find clubs that can field two full teams of people - especially for 2 days and at 2750. Clubs that can only field one team will naturally gravitate towards 40k if they have any interest in taking the cup - so you may wind up with a large game imbalance too.

I'd consider pitching it as 40k for NEWCC, with an individual 2 day fantasy side event, or two 1 day events for people that want to come together as a club and root their team along.

Andy, yes 4 man teams, the fantasy event is there for clubs that can't send a 40k team, or like you guys have multiple players that want to play.

Oh I totally hear that - I just think you might get more participation if people don't have to send 4 necessarily to the off-event.

Well, it's say you "can" send a team to both. You make it seem like you have to, Andy.

I don't understand why 40K is lowered to 1500 where Fantasy (because of 8th) is upped to 2750. Why not 1850 for 40k?

hey Lou like i said nothing is set yet points wise but i am looking at running some doubles games during the event. 1500 works alot better for that.

Are there any clubs in Maryland participating? I need a place to play, and despite my run last NEWC 2nd place sportsman, I can hit harder with practice lol
