Gentlemen...Start Your Paintpots!!

Postby Emperors Reckoning » Thu Sep 30, 2010 12:38 pm

Tale of 4, Maybe 5 Gamers begins tomorrow!

The Goal: A flexible* 2000 point 40K army by 30 June 2011

The Prize: A flexible 2000 point 40K army by 30 June 2011, and the warm glow of accomplishing a noble goal

The Peril: Raucaus ridicule will rain on recalcitrant painters

The Participants:

Ronen - Blood Angels
Jarrett - Space Marines
Duncan - Orks
James - Imperial Guard (or maybe DE)
Steve - Imperial Guard

October's Objective: THE MINIMUM!

In the month of October, 2010 each participant will paint one (1) HQ unit and two (2) minimum-sized troops units. There will be opportunities to expand the units later. The goal here is minimum playable army. There is no points consideration.

Photos of completed units will be due by 11:59 PM EDT 31 October 2010.

BIG-ASSED PROVISO: Some of the participants (like, me) will already have completed units in the Codex without actually completing an army. THESE UNITS ARE NOT TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE PURPOSES OF ToF,MFG! For example, my army for these purposes cannot include the current Warboss, Boyz Mob or Nobz mob that I have painted.

Codicil to the B-AP: Models that are already assembled are acceptable.

Participants are encouraged to report their progress and post pictures during the month.

*flexible: It is expected that participants will discover that some units that they originally planned to have in the ToF,MFG list will not be quite the jewels that were thought. Substitutions will be allowed over the course of the project, with a final goal of a 2000 point 40K army.

Good luck.

Word. Duncan, I am really looking forward to this, so thank you for organizing it. It's been far too long since I had a play-able 40k army.

Now, I just really need to get those power fists and some of your infamous yet totally awesome "home depods" from you.
Fast, like kittens with jetpacks.

So since iam wanting to do DE which are suppose to be out next month , I might have to bend a rule just for the first month . Iam going to paint an HQ and a squad of incubi I have the current ones and love the look of them so I will work on this for the first month .

This should keep me at least on pace with the group , I'll be pre ordering the army box so should have the army on its release date . Blog soon to follow .
Would you rather pew pew pew pew or chic chic BLAM !!! chic chic BLAM !!!!

My life is getting close enough to settled again to launch into another painting escapade. Although, I tend to be very much a boom bust painter...

I predict that i will be full of fail this month. Something about billing 240+ hours at work, I think. I've got an assload of vacation days that I have to burn through, though, so I'm hopeful for November.
