So here's a dumb question.

Since I'm new to this sort of living, where do you city-dwellers prime/dip if you don't have balcony/roof access and live on a major thoroughfare?

The roof. They say you don't have access, but where there is a will there is a way.

Worse case scenario just get a big box and prime inside. Opening windows is recommended.

Don't do it inside. That's a stink which won't be out till spring. Get EVERYTHING you want to prime for the winter together. Put it in a box. Grab your favorite 5 cans of primer, and head to a deserted park somewhere. Make an afternoon of it, since you want to spray lightly, wait, spray again. Do it on a decent day, not when it's 32 degrees outside.

And yeah, you can generally get on the roof, depending on the building.

thats were I do most of my priming/varnishing. you can also go to the Games Workshop on 8th street & talk to the staff. depending on how much stuff you have to prime you might have to make more than one trip. Sundays & late night are the best times.

I don't live in an actual apartment building, so I literally do not have the type of roof I can get onto/fire escape. Should've been specific

You can come spray your stuff on my roof. I have a bunch of models to prime before winter hits too. I also have a few fresh direct boxes ready to go for that exact reason.

My building has a loading dock that's perfect for it. There's always some space somewhere.
