Confrontation Spasm Warrior as D&D Drow Avenger

Postby Anger Worm » Fri Sep 30, 2011 6:16 pm

The varnish just finished drying on this guy. He's for use in a Dark Sun campaign for Dungeons and Dragons. I wanted to avoid any metallics - metals are almost nonexistent in Dark Sun - and tried out a crystal/glass look for his axe. He's a wasteland wanderer so I kept the palette muted. Used a little creative license with his Drow racial background and went for a deep brown instead of the traditional gray.

Excellent painting. Is the axe an add on or was it part of the actual model? Looks out of balance to me. Regardless nice work.

It's entirely the original. I agree it's an over-the-top sculpt, though I think the surreptitious-looking cloak-enshrouded guy towing a massive axe is what makes the model appealing.

well the axe is usually wielded when he transforms into a Hyde like form in the game the model is from .

But I will say I always liked that mini . the glass effect came out great nice work .
