Anyone know how extensive the rule changes are?

Weapon ranges changed to increments of 8, and the hit tables are changing for most weapons ; for instance, the HMG's +3 starts now at 16", shotguns are +6 from 0-8"...

Ranges are now measured edge to edge instead of center to center.

Combat camo is now F2F, with a -3 to all opponent's rolls; you can now combat camo a TAG and live.

MSV 1 is now a -3, and will also work on thermoptic (ie reducing it from -6 to -3).

The +/- is now capped at a maximum of 12.

Infiltration is -3 to be placed on opponents side; if you fail you end up in your deployment zone.

LT order use reveals LT, but loss of LT just makes your army irregular for a turn.

Climbing is a long skill with no roll.

There will be some sort of silhouettes you can use for LOF.

This is just off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure there are others that have leaked.

Tried playing awhile ago and would like to get back into it. I have my own minis and a few containers I can bring for terrain. How many players are there currently?

madhatter432, I was thinking of getting back into Infinity too. Were you going to wait for the new edition?

zero, thanks for the rundown. Do you have advice for picking up the game now or waiting for the new rules?

Reading through the infinity forums it seems that it's ok to start now as the full 3rd edition rulebook won't be out till later in the year or early next year. I also already preordered the starter set

I may come in this Thursday as well; I have some terrain in my locker too. I was hoping they'd release 3e now on the web since it would would be a little strange to have a starter set with quick start rules in a new edition while the full rules are in another.
