Yes they can. However they give up the victory points for the charachter regardless of if he survives or not (he's too disgraced).

Haha.. if that happens and the character survives the battle, you should immediately take that mini, shave his beard off with an exacto, repaint the beardless part, and forever bring him to your games as a member of a slayer unit
Jaghatai, on the Pale Rider event: I hop on this board to post a simple NEWCC question, end up looking at some interacial lesbian action and watch a religious meltdown. You guys know how to party!

The character can't move, but can/must always challenge (Dwarf AB). This means he can only attack units to the original front. But he must still offer and accept challenges in all directions. The rest of the command group moves as normal.

Sorry about the TWF thing, but I wasn't in the mood to tolerate silliness yesterday. ;)
Not caring adds a whole new dimension to the game.

Quote:
the only point is probably moving characters, but he could do that anyway if he wins combat. Standards and musicians always work, even when fighting at the flank and rear.

WRONG! Any model not in the fighting rank may not help the unit it is with in any way. Look it up

That says "front rank," not "fighting rank." Very different

No it says if for any reason they get pushed to the second rank they don't count unless they are fighting

"...(second paragraph) If all such models cannot fit into the front rank, the player must place some of them into the second rank. Champions, standard bearers, and musicians and any characters in the second rank cannot take part in close combat in any way unless they are directly engaged, via a flank charge for example. Also, some of the bonuses these models confer to the unit are lost."
