I'll want some 3K pratice games with my Tsons army over the next couple of months, Nidal. I need a few weeks to put together a few models and I'll be ready to roll...um, or rather ready to move slow and purposefully.

The rules for superheavies are in the Imperial Armor book (or at least the one I have). I dunno if they're available online too. Basically they work the same as the regular vehicles, but they move max 6", shoot everything all the time at different targets, and they have their own damage tables on which you have to get multiple "destroyed" results to actually destroy something. Looks like meltabombs are probably the best way to kill them.

Tho technically, you can get lucky enough to trigger a chain reaction in a single hit to wipe one out.

But yes, multiple meltabombs is by far the best way to handle them ;)

Ed, thanks for that confirmation and the info on how this won't be a standard 'optimize your list and kick ass' tournament. It sounds like a lot of fun with 6000 pts of weirdness running around on the board between 2 opponents. If you allow the VDR rules, what percentage of GW products does a model have to contain to be eligible for the tournament? Because this tournie is all the excuse I need to start converting up a small Titan for my Deathwing army. :)

0%

Model up anything you think looks cool.

But I will say this: I'm doing the appearance judging myself, and I'm not a fan of things that obviously look like toys and don't look "40k-ish".

Having said that, I still think that Lost in space robot you posted a link to has alot of potential.

So if VDR is legal, does that mean we can have one super heavy VDR, or as much VDR as we want and only one of them can be superheavy.

I'm assuming that we can only have one VDR (super heavy or not) or one superheavy period, totalling one and only crazy model.

One VDR all together.

Anything that remotely looks like it was designed with a calculator will be disallowed.

Hah, my VDR Warmachine costs 1255 points in its current state... I have no clue what I'm doing in Army Builder to construct the thing. Never used VDR before. :)

AV: 14/14/12; 3 Structure Points; 4 Void Shields; Power of the Machine Spirit; Wrecker

2 x lascannons: Long Barrel, Mega, Gatling, Twin-linked

2 x Heavy Bolter (point defense): Short Barrel, Mega

1 x Earthshaker: Gatling, Mega

Guess I kinda went overboard? Hey, at least it wasn't calculator-driven, more like 'young boy in candy store' driven... :)

Ed, making it the equivalent of a Reaver or Warlord Titan in the Inquisitor Titan section of Army Builder (under the Allies section) was much simpler. Can we use those stats instead? There are differences though, as Titans' Void Shields give them a 4+ inv save versus shooting attacks/damage.

Sure, you can use existing titan stats.

Ed, I know I should be posting in the Rogue's Den forum, but I'm not exactly certain if I'll going, so if you can continue to answer here, that'd be great. :) For now, I'm just trying to make sure what I'm bringing is legal.

How's this for my Titan equivalent:

Warlord Titan: AV 14/14/13; three 4+ Inv Saves vs all shooting damage (according to Army Builder); 2 Plasma Destructors + 2 Turbolasers.

700 pts

I may replace a Destructor with a Power Fist (for those nasty Tyranid Bio-titans and Monstrosities).

Does this look okay?
