Danny's Magic Wash

Postby -NightGoblinHordeLeader » Tue Aug 24, 2004 8:13 am

Dear KingPoffyPoffa/Whom it May Concern,

Could you please give me instructions on the magic wash mixture?

I bought both of the bottles you have pictures of in your painting article. One bottle Golden "Acrylic Flow Release" and one bottle Golden "Retarder".

The Flow Release recommends a mixing of 10 to 1 - Water to Flow Aid. The Flow Release is very thin and liquid.

The Retarder has no thinning recommendation. It is very thick and viscous.

Should I dilute the Flow Release and NOT dilute the Retarder?

Well, I believe I diluted the flow release first, but not the retarder. However, you can find the instructions I followed here:

Anyway, play with it a bit. You can't damage anything by trying. :)

Ok Sahib,

It should look like this?

350 ML Water
150 ML Flow Release (13.6 ML Flow + 136 ML Water)
50 ML Retarder

Then add or detract a spot of flow/retarder for blending-washing-and so on.

I'd try that, and see how it works
